Sylph-D400M TPA3255 PBTL Mono 400W-2Ω [Archived]

TPA3255 based, mono class-D amplifier with 2 ohms load capability. With careful parts selection and some tweaks for superb sound quality.

The board has a standard PFFB configuration from SLAA788A. PFFB can be enabled/disabled through onboard jumpers.

The analog input can accept full balanced or single ended signals which can be configured by onboard jumpers. The output is 1 channel, mono PBTL configuration.

Input buffer's gain has been increased (compared to EVM with unity gain)

A split supply is used in the opamp buffer in order to delete the frontend input coupling caps in the buffer stage. The positive and negative rails for opamp supply are being generated on-board with post regulators. The opamp buffer section has a separate bulk cap on its positive and negative rails.

Includes TVS diode for power supply surge protection, and will normally short out when an accidental reverse polarity is applied.

Use of oversized capacitors and resistors for the zobel network ensures reliable operation in PFFB mode and will not degrade the sound. Use of bulk capacitance in AVDD analog TPA3255 supply. Voltage supervisor IC is being used to avoid large turn on-off pops or clicks.
